Hi Sandblaster,I 'll tell you about 'the' experience if you tell me where that top spot just north of H/Bay is.......a few of us have heard that you guy's have a great stretch of flat water to carve up and only have a few kiter's to do it with there?...to organize a 'come on up ' for some Harvey Bay hospitality would be great ....share some water, beer and tales maybe

Not speculating but he would have simply drowned from the current... pretty crazy out there today.

Umm rooey to be honest i dont know what happened either. i was just kiting and saw a ruber ducky go past with an unconcsious man in it who they then start trying to resusitate on the sand. They picked him out from around the waves so my guess would be that he just got realy tired and drowned amongst the waves or something.

Hey Rooey et al, had a nice flat water session at Hervey Bay, about 8 kiters out.
No waves up this way though.
You were wondering about a secret spot North of Hervey Bay.
Actually Hervey Bay on a South Easter has all the flat water you need.
For one reason or other not as many kiters up here as there used to be a few
years back....
About 30km North of Hervey Bay there's Toogoom and a bit further up Burrum Head
both great flat water spots worth a look if your up this way.

Sad news about the Windsurfer though.

I must admit, Hervey Bay is a VERY safe place to kite (and windsurf).
Shallow water with an exposed sandbar out seaward to stop you heading out to "open waters". Great for learners and free stylers alike.
