After a couple of weeks of flukey wind and average forecasts - a group of us took a risk and hit the ocean for a sunset session.

The wind arrived and so did the sunset. One of those days you feel blessed to be a slave to this sport.

Riders include: Sci Anderson, Hamish Penno & Damo Gough

Great pics.

Lot of Riders out well beyond sunset from Leighton, Cott, Swannie right up the coast. Bit of swell too.

At Cott (Isolator) the sports ground floodlights shone across the golf course and lit up the water.

Privileged to live in WA.

Haha! We were there!!!!

All the more precious this time of year...

Managed to get my first decent wave ever!! Rode in from a way out, took the drop, bottom turned and slotted into the face with a few lil' carves.

Will get more aggressive cutting back, etc when I get better but I was

Yeah it is
But what ru complaining about.
You could have a sunrise session (& a morning coffee with Ben) then drive across in plenty of time for a lonely sunset ride on the wild side.
How much better could it get !

Thats the main reason why I don't like day light saving,

Most of the time you miss the sunset and that is the most classic time to be out there.

Have a good think about it - do you see more or less sunsets with day light saving ?

Awsome photos, Luv being out at that time of day, but I usually get off the water by dusk as all the local fisherman call that time the witching hour. Its like there is a dinner bell for all the noahs that are about. Bad time to do any trawling/bodydraging!

Great pics guys. More!
Love kiting till sunset. Just ends the day off perfectly.
What`s DLS got to do with seeing the sunset??????????
It`s an hours difference for christ sake! HTFU or chill TFU.
Most people work till 5 0`clock,,,,,, arrrrr never mind I give up.
If anyone says that there is such a thing as common sense they are blatantly lying.
We`re still enjoying some good weather at the moment. Have a look at how many people are out and about, jogging, walking, picnicing etc after work. Big difference to a couple of months ago. Why?????????????????? Mmmmmm I wonder?

Sorry IoZ, I might not be as blunt as our windsurfer mate, but I agree with what he's saying if not the way he's putting it. That is, "How does DLS stop you from kiting at that time?"

I'm always out at dusk during DLS and love it.

The same beautiful orb but the other side of the country. Something mystical about kiting on an ocean of fire.
