The Tv and radio news tells us that the beaches are all clean and back to normal.

Well when you have a quick look they do appear to be clean but we did a downwinder yesterday at Kawana and there is still heaps of small globs dispurserd throught the sand. So much so that if put you kite on the sand it will get marked.

When you dig down you just keep hitting oil globs they are as big a 5-10mm in size.

So then we got on the water and I wondered why my tail pad felt slipperey - there is a still a film in the water.

My mate did a fresh wax jpb before the session - after the session it was brown from the oil.

Needless to say we went home for a good shower.

Today I was at Coolum and there was a large brown foam sloshing in around inf ornt of the flags - oil again no doubt.

So dont believe this mess is all fixed up - is just buried and mixed into to our environment
who knows how long it will take to take to actually dissapear -

Thanks Qld government for such a great response - I wonder how much better we would be if they hadnt sat on their hands for 2 days.

+1 on that simon, i haven't been there to witness it (still stuck in melbourne with benny boy) but it sounds like everything has been done half-arsed?

Its not good they need to pull their finger out already and get it sorted!!!

btw, i went surfing at sunshine (ross cres.) about 2 days ago and there was oil in the water..it seems to have dissapeared now tho, cant taste/smell it in the water now.

haha yer i said its gone now but there DEFINATELY was on tuesday.

anyway..i saw some people at sunshine cleaning stuff up but i think it was just rubbish, good on them anyway!
