I'm looking for a strapless surfboard to replace my sweet but trashed 6' 2" x 19 1/4" x 2 3/8" board with fairly sharp rails and a small amount of rocker.
I've had another that was useless because it bounced around too much. I'm looking at a board with no rocker at the back (actually slight hollow). Does anybody know why the kite specific boards aren't dead flat at back half (length ways)? I thought this was main reason for board bouncing around.

hey mate, your best off just checking out all your local surf shops and pornbrokers.
you will find something nice and cheap, that way you dont need to worry about compressions and dings.

nuff said.

I dont think you will find want you want at a pornbroker, but you will get something stiff to bounce around on, but i dont know how it will go in chop though,

You might try a pawnbroker for something more to your tastes.

Sounds like your describing an 'Air Kerr' by Rusty...

rusty.com.au/

I had a 5'10", super hard rail to 3/4 up, flat nose and tail rocker, wider tail for easy of sticking boosts.

Stock they come with reasonably thick glass.

I have two surfboards – both flat in the rocker from the tail until just before the front foot and both with a bit of vee in the tail. Both are small wave surfboards. One has a smidgen of a concave from in front of the vee. The concave board doesn’t bounce around any different to the non-concave board.

Not sure why one would bounce and the other wouldn’t unless you are standing further back on the one that bounces. One of the reasons I don’t ride strapped boards is when you are strapped and not riding waves, because you stand so far back, the nose sticks in the air and the board bounces around. On strapless you move around to compensate for this.

Thanks JohnT, your spot on. The board that bounces around has straps that are too far back.
