Can any of these guys actually ride waves or is this some kind of new skate / kite trend. Whatever it is, personally I think it sucks....

Man BWS does kill it, BUT, upwind hooked in chop hops aren't getting me one bit amped. It's not even waveriding. In-fact I can't even tell if that vid was a pisstake or not.
Lets see some more Ryland footage! Muscling some down the line unhooked airs like he does is what i wanna see!

Slomo is for use ONE time in a vid if that and is reserved only for the very best of stuff. Slomo really is as good as claiming... people need to realise this.

p.s. If you consider someone a kook because they didn't like a "surfing" vid that had no surfing in it and was full of a bunch of slomo upwind hooked in mary popins not even off the lip of a wave. Then I guess I'm a kook.

Well I don't consider boosting with your kite off the flat of a wave to be surfing. Each to their own I guess. It definitely took a little bit of skill to do so credit points are due there.

Pretty sure I've seen both of those before...

p.s. Keahi is a mate but I really gotta say that the hooked in 360 shuv thing he does is just something he does mucking around between waves, it's not exactly "progressive". He does do some other shuv variations off the lip now and again that are pretty cool though, I will try and get him doing some next time.

It's more like a backhand bs shuv revert that he does, but it looks pretty sick when he does it right. I think he does the 3 shuvs off the lip to.
Surprisingly if you are hooked in and leaning back against the kite it isn't as hard as you would think on the flat and I found the technique to be totally different than on a skateboard or unhooked on a wakeskate. You should give it a go, trick is just not to try and spin it off the water, get i the air first.
