Is it possible to swim while flying a kite ? lol.
I mean, some people walk around while flying a kite, hey ?
So if you happen to be a strong swimmer, I guess it's do-able.

Of course the wind would have to be fairly light.
And naturally the kite would have to be a doona.
I wonder what the best stroke would be ?

side stroke works well, however your technique must keep your spreader out of the water therefore eliminating the possibility of your chicken loop sliping off
just my ideas

Of course you can swim with a kite at 12.

The lift the kite gives can only help.

The only question is which way do you want to swim!

Stupid question.

For doona-flyers, ^^^
When the wind is light and they are chasing their board......
swimming might be a good alternative to bodydragging.

Not so stupid , if your board is close behind you, and you are not over powered, you can do back stroke using both arms with a PL Arc. Beats body dragging any day. Single arm breast stroke with an inflato, done both, not doable in heavy wind though.

Try filling the leading edge and struts with helium and head down to the local swimming pool, let us all know how you get on!!

Take some pics as well!!

Errrm, why don't you just try it and tell us?

In fact, it's a standard technique for gettting back to your board if you're fairly close and can't be bothered dragging away and back again. It can be done with any kite.

Why don't you side stroke and use your bottom hand to give the kite a nudge downwards every one and a while - that used to work for me for my arcs.

Backstroke rarely is effective for anything other than ultra short distances and / or there really is no wind.
