You should progress pretty quicky with either But I would say go with the SB2 as its a better kite.

No! 1 has alot of bar pressure with the pulleys on the bar. 2 at least. 3 much better.

SB3 are wikid. i can go out in about 12 kt to 25kt approx. only 60kg. but they are wikid kites. and safe.

I would go series 2, ....single point inflation and some other improvements.
I started on a Crossbow but Switchblade is fine if you are thinking you will ride unhooked one day (this is way down the road though)

You will have a whole other very long discussion about which kite, but either will do the job and alow fast progression.

It's a no brainer, don't bother with the SB1 eg bar set up, go 2 better yet pay 4 the 3 an be even happier andd progress even more..........

Joel,

If your starting a SB2 will get you up and going quickly, as you are just learing i wouldn't bother buying a new kite or even a SB3. I would try and find a reasonably cheap SB2 and once you done a season on it look at upgrading. That way you don't trash a good kite.

PS. I have a SB2 12m for sale. PM me if you want to have a look or give it a demo.

I have just bought the ids to replace my sb3- awesome kite for learning, safe stable and easy- from memory the 2 had the same attributes.

Crossbow 1 was a dog, steer clear. SB2 onwards you can't go wrong.

the 9 meter sb1 was pretty good, but the sb1 in the 12meter was a piece of crap.

300 dollars cheaper? more like 300 dollars total

SB1 Is fine to learn on, yes as the kites devloped they got better, but plenty of people learned to kite on the SB1 without problem.
