I think you will find that Towra is the flattest, quite a kite though, don't attempt unless your confident and there are plenty of people on the bay.

You can find a map on the NSWKBA website.

I checked it out this arvo Kev. Tide was high and we have plenty of room to run the lines . Will probably have to fight a bit harder with the punters for beach space due to the easy access they now have to our kiting spot,Also spoke with a Council engineer at the site and he confirmed the beach and water area will be lit up with spotlights attached to the new restaurants.

New showers have been placed at the bottom of the steps ... they are similar to those at Wanda and they have returfed the grass area up the top where we pack up our kites. All in all the wait may have been worth it. All we need now is those beaut nor'east seabreezes to kick in and we are in business.
It will be great to get back home again.... breaky at the Novatel then across to the beach ... a relaxing coffee and read the newspaper.... a short zzzzzzzz ....check out the talent on the beach....in comes the wind and its kiting heaven....work the pool area then a dash to flat water paradise at Towra cut back up to Brighton Boys beach ...polish off the session under lights at the pool... pack up the gear... then over to Elvis's for the magic pizza... a couple beers... then home for a rest to prepare to do it all again tomorrow ....Sh!t I love retirement... ahhhh ain't life grand

Not on big fella , there is only one way to Towra and thats by kite across the channell. Only very experienced kiters should attempt this crossing which is best achieved from the north side of Dolls.
If the wind drops whilst your over there its either the big swim back and unless ur a Kieren Perkins you are gonna drown ...or try and hike out thru the scrub to Kurnell road ( try doing it in bare feet and you will never kite again ) and then work out how ur gonna get back to Dolls....if you actually find ur way out.
You can get into a stack of trouble if the wind becomes very strong over there also... search this forum for the story about the kiter lofted 50metres into the bush and hung up in the trees.
Sorry to put a downer on things for you but 3 to 4 yrs minimum kiting before considering Towra....and even then think twice about going over.
cheers

Yeah Brighton is looking good eh!
Area is a bit tighter though, you guys will have to keep on top of the newbies up there.

Towra road is a 4wd track, I walked it last year from the Kurnell Rd, its approx 1 klm in, then it ends in oyster shell middens and mangroves, absolute nightmare for another 500M in most places to the waters edge. Really nasty country for bare feet, no way you would get through it with a kite and board.
Never go to Towra alone, or without telling someone.

You were real lucky that day that freak NE gust cleaned you up Col and Ric came to your aid!

Cya and

Goodwinds
