I have been asked to go to Sydney for work. However, I can not imagine that there is nearly as much wind as there is in Melbourne, such as reliable strong seabreeze and the cranking northerlies.

Is there anyone that has an objective opinion on this, who may have lived and kited in both cities. Do I get my good share of 8 of 10 kiteable days in summer, 20 knots?

I have lived in Sydney for a couple of years but that’s quite some time back and far as I can remember there hasn’t been much wind. I hope I’m wrong on that.

So jobs going well then mate..

But sydney would suck to live in, melbourne is great for kiting, the bay is gold, plus the ocean for surf at 1.5 hours away. Its pretty good.

Sunday was good down at rosebud, 25-30 gusting to 35, so well powered.

I know - I dont like the idea at all to move away from Melbourne. It's too damn good for kiting here - and cool

I'm glad you guys had a great weekend, I was hiking, in wind, was good too. I will have to get myself a smaller kite for this winter, 7ish or so. May have to convince my company to do the work from here and fly to Sydney for regular meetings, that would be acceptable

Not many foils in Sydney !

Lots of kite spots.

Surf beaches 1.5 hours away in Melbourne ?
Only half an hour in Sydney.
Plenty of wind on Botany Bay.

Melbourne is a dump !And cold.

Sydney boasts warm water, great kite spots and hot chicks everywhere !

How could you live in Melbourne ??
