Dolls Pt might be ok but don't go too far out otherwise a gear failure might leave you swimming the width of Botany. From the charts for today I'd expect a pretty gusty breeze - today had gusts to just over 30kts with a steadier level somewhere around 20. Looked just great from where I was sitting at my desk...

laperuse & yarra bay are options, but not for the learners and faint hearted - as dodginess abounds in both those spots

Lappa has too many underwater obstacles that a kiter unfamiliar with the area could come to grief with, however, Yarra Bay is unreal in a good SW'er - just be cautious around the groyne area.
In any case if something does go wrong you haven't got far to go to get buried - there is a cemetary right at the beach.

I'm always out there so look me up and I'll give you the rundown.

ps. Kev and the lads - really enjoyed the Boaties session - and backed it up yesterday with a monster 5hr session in the Southerly at Brighton. I don't think we got any wind last Summer that would match it.

The best place to go in a sw is boat harbour mainly because it is the safest , does get a bit choppy but there is alot of space if something were to go wrong.

Yarra bay is great as well but very easy to get lofted there and if something were to go wrong while kiting you would most likely drift into the rocky shorelines.

There is a big reef that protects the end up near boat harbour, especially at low tide, a bit of swell when its big can get through on a very high tide.

Dolls was good last night, if you had a bow kite, not so good for C's there was some big holes and big bullets coming through.
Amazing sunset, the storm clouds out east where incredible, we packed it in after sunset when the lighting started to look very intense!!
It was miles away out to sea, but still incredible to watch, wind chill was extreme, it was warmer in the water.

Cya and

Goodwinds
