Hi there,

My company is relocating me to Sydney for abuot 2 years. Just wondering on where to live for the better kitesurf spots and to be able to get into the CBD within an hour.

Any advice welcome?

My company has just posted me to Sydney and I chose to live in Mascot. Everyone in sydney probably thinks Mascot is pretty boring but I live in a brand spanking new complex with big apartments, great facilities and at a reasonable price. It's a 1 min train ride to the airport and 11 mins to the city (circular quay opera house etc). So I never have to drive, which is great because I think Sydney traffic is ^@$#%$%^%$!!!! Its very close to fantastic places to eat like Newtown, Surry Hills etc.

It's pretty close to Brighton Le Sands, Kurnell, Presidents, Dolls point, san souci etc there seems to be many options. I can use public transport to get to most of the beaches and its only a 12 min ride by bus.

But no matter where you live in Sydney I think you have many beaches within easy reach.

I've got a similar requirement to yours - close to a kiting spot and easy to get into the city and I ended up going for Kogarah. Its about 10mins to dolls point and a bit less to Brighton L-S. It's so close that I've started kiting after work which is excellent (no crowds, no waiting for the sea breeze either!)
Morning trains take about 25mins in to Martin Place. It's not the most exciting place to live in the world but it's cheaper than the suburbs right up next to the city. You could also check out Hurstville, Carlton and Rockdale depending on your budget and travel time preferences.
