Australian Kitesurfing League Round 7
Notice of Event
When: Saturday 13th march until Sunday 14thth March, with Monday 15th
as a backup day in case of no wind over the weekend.
Where: The event will be held at Brighton Beach. At the foreshore of the
end of Brighton Road.
Entry Registrations
Will be taken at Brighton Beach, Scarborough on Saturday 13th at 9:30AM
Registrations close at 10:30 AM Saturday 13th.
Entry fee is $50.
Divisions:
Five divisions will be run and individuals are restricted one division for
which they qualify. The divisions are:
Open Mens
Open Womens
Juniors (under 18 years)
Masters (over 35 years)
Amateurs (own discretion)
Formats:
Three formats will be used.
1. Freestyle: 4 riders out in 10 minute heats. Judging criteria will be
overall impression, taking into consideration technical difficulty, height,
power, and smoothness of execution.
2. Big Air/ Best Trick: 10 riders out in 20 minute heats. Judging criteria
will be on individual manoeuvres based on height, power, and style.
Downwind Race: All competitors out together. Two division – Mens and
Womens.
3. Downwind Slalom Race.
Safety Briefings:
A riders and safety briefing will take place at the comp site each morning
11AM. All entries must be present.
Rules:
The event will be governed by the rules of the AKL series of events (contact
Mike Walker – details below).
Prizes:
Prizes will be awarded for top three places in the freestyle event.
Trophies will be awarded for the series winners.
Indemnity:
All competitors participating in the Australian Kitesurfing League do so at
their own risk and responsibility. The responsibility for an individual to
compete or continue to compete is theirs alone. Kitesurfers Inc and its
sponsors and partners accept no responsibility for the ability or
sufficiency of equipment of an individual accepted to compete.
