I know there's not many Takoon riders in Perth, but since at least two shops carry them there must be a few so I'll ask anyway...
I took my 06 Nova out for a spin for the first time yesterday, and decided the bar system is crap. When you rotate the bar you've got lots of loose nylon webbing flapping in the breeze that can easily get snagged and clear plastic tubing over everything which gets snagged on the bar hole during relaunch, and a velcro punchout that is way too sensitive. Also there was a tendency to stall on a high power setting even when tuned short front/long back. Geeza, who was with me thinks Takoon once offered some sort of recall or free upgrade on these becasue of problems. I've checked kiteforum and Takoon's website but didn't find anything. While the tuning problem's easy enough to fix, I thought I'd check out what he said first.
While on the Takoon website I saw that the new bar is heaps simpler and nowhere near as messy (no straps or hoses). It looks like it's possible to keep the 06 bar and lines and replace just the depower system. Instead of loads of nylon strapping, it's got a Slingshot style rope-in-a-groove lock for power trim and an adjustable punchout box tha goes from no force needed to impossible to move. Has anyone heard of a free upgrade or if I can buy the 07 power trim and punchout and attach it to an 06 bar/lines/kite?

I have the Nova 2 (12m). The bar is absolutely awesome. Let me know if you want to have an up close look at it (or a blast on the kite for that matter). It may well be possible to order parts of this bar for your system.

You can buy the NTS system to upgrade the 06 models and it should be available from the Takoon agents. Its really good and worth the cash.

I've got a couple of local dealers making enquiries for me now. No one's heard of a free upgrade/recall, but there is an upgrade kit which sounds like the way to go.

I'm in the same boat as you dog, I spend most the time on my fuels, but when it gets over 26 knots I like to pull out the 9m Nova, it loves nking conditions, the only prob is the bar, rotations are a nightmare and my arms feel like they grow a couple of inches every time I use it. Let me know how you go, i enquired a few months ago about an upgrade with the NTS but no one got back to me.

There is a mention somewhere that you have to shorten the back lines by 60cm on the nova 1 (Nova 2 is setup perfect out the box so not applicable) when you put the upgrade system on it. Something to keep in mind.
