Friday was the first day of the coconet clasic.. took alittle while to sort the leaks out in the pools but once they were done the winch and beers were flowing.... some sick action on and around the slider was great spectical for riders and onlookers with the winch and pools set up in the park... in the arvo alight breeze kicked in with everyone hittiing the water on there big kites....Some good ride'n but wasnt really enough wind to see anything great achieved...sponsors and riders nite was held at the surf club that nite with the coconet girls sevring beers and food round..... An Unreal weekend so far and with the wind lookin better over the weekend should only get better....big shout out to Tim from Coconet and the Central Queeensland kite boarding club for such a great weekend once again.... to be continued...

There wasn't enough wind on saturday to get anything done, but Gabby put on a sandcastle comp for everyone on the beach... and the winch went ahead which was pretty awesome, they even mounted it onto the back of a 4wd and took it out to hit some sliders and things just off the beach.
We got wind yeserday arvo, got everything done, most people were loaded up on 12m-15m's and one 16m, and one 17m for the finals...

i know the groms went -

1st: Cam Barker
2nd: Dan
3rd: Andrew Yates
4th: Me (Rhys Porter)
5th: Josh
6th - 10th they didnt give an order at the presentation...

Andrew and Jaime-lee got encouragment awards
Dan got riders choice award (Well deserved)
i think cam barker won the winch event 2...

sorry i cant remember who won the other divisions...
was a mad weekend tho cant wait till next year.

and where were the kickers and sliders this year guys?

Congrats to Cam, Marine and Alex, and all the placegetters too. Tannum is a great comp and really nice part of Oz to visit, with lots of other good spots nearby too.

I know that Eric Groenewoud won the masters, good on you Eric, it's great to see the older riders out there pulling off some good tricks. Also congratulations to the little kid (sorry I don't know his name) who won the kite. The comp had a great turnout. What happened to the kicker and sliders? Congratulations to all competitors! I'd like to say thanks to Marine and Ang for making me feel welcome at the presentations, thanks. See you both at Bowen if your coming.

That would be little Luke. He's only 11 and about 40kg, and was there on Dans 16m doing backroll kloops. Great Stuff

Tannum comp was sik!!!!!!! cant wait till next years and all of the other coconet classics at bowen etc. im stoked cuz i won 50 buks haha and a free coconet hat always makes people happy lol check ya next year...

The sliders didnt go in cause there wasnt much time for it on the sunday.. the other days the wind wasnt worth while puttin them in...
also no one was stoppin you guys from grabing the sliders.. and nath was case'n people to help him put the kicker in the water but couldnt get the extra hand to help him.... great comp and a big thanks needs to go to tim and the Central Queensland kite club cause with out these guys the comp would of never happened... also thanks to all the riders for turning up and makin the weekend so great./...also all the sponsors for through in so much money and product to support the event....and last of all the council and surf club for being so proactive and helpin in the lead up and during the event...
