Thankyou to thoes kiters who assisted me in Botany bay today. Blue Ozone edge and red ION.

Story- After having a really short but good session i decided id go on one last tack before calling it quits, as the wind was now blowing about 25knotts and i was on an 11m. I did a toe side turn and the lines went a bit too slack causing the kite to fall and invert in the strong winds. I tried every thing but the inverted kite+bridle wraped around the kite made it impossible to re-launch. I fired of my QR and began a self rescue. During the self rescue the kite managed to power up and shoot off taking a bit of my finger with it. As a final resort i released my leash and watched my kite fly off but too my surprise a Top bloke on an Ion went straight after it. Another guy on a blue edge came and got my board and also was kind enough to give me a tow because i was stupidly a fair way out.

Anyways,, I got all my gear back safe and sound thanx to two kiters who went above and beyond to help out another. And i am very greatfull.

Nice guys. How much of your finger is "a little bit"? Did a line just wrap it as the kite powered?

Glad you're OK.

I was on the blue edge.... no worries. Glad you got your kite back.
Other kiters have done the same for me on numerous occasions so its only fair.

Its a bit tricky doing a tow in with a mystic harness which has no handle on the back....
