I've been advised that my thread has been moved, from the general forum, to the AKSA forum. Personally I suspect far less people would read it in the AKSA thread.

So I thought i'd post a link cos this is a popullar topic and it seems to me like many people might like to keep an eye on it

Having not read the thread before, and now having read it I think it is important that some questions get answered and the traffic on the AKSA board is tiny compared to the general board. I don't see why it was moved apart from to try and cool down the arguement.

Yeah....it does seem a liittle unusual to move it

I agree it should be in the general forum.......
Certain ( I suppose influential ) people may be hoping this issue goes away

IMO the thread is of current matters and should be displayed to all the traffic

Hmm lots of people seem to be saying this.

Laurie sent me an email saying it had been moved, but did not give a reason. I wrote to him and said my reasons were not malicious, (and they aren't). I havnt heard back, but then i didn't specificly ask him why it was moved.

I'd like it to come back to the main thread here, i think its important enough too....

Conspiracies!

Topics move all the time .. that topic was moved to (new) AKSA forum, because we have a new forum titled "AKSA", and it looked like it belonged in there.

AKSA wrote to me & asked if they could have a forum to discuss issues .. so .. excellent .. people are interested in AKSA, they've got a forum, and got a hot topic to discuss in there!

Good thing is that everyone is finding out that there is an AKSA forum to discuss AKSA stuff.

Not sure if it's a moon phase, but what's with all the association "issues" at the moment :

Currently active in various seabreeze forums:
- windsurfing qld - allegations & heated debate
- saksa - allegations & heated debate
- aksa - allegations & heated debate
- alsa - allegations & heated debate

Each topic has required removal of abuse, and remove of posts of private information.

All this association stuff is pretty touchy by the looks of it, and I hope everybody can discuss it openly and evenly and that people making allegations also have a purpose/desired outcome.

It's an automated email generated by the forum, not one from me personally .. see above.

Double standards are a funny thing..... ^^^
When WAKSA/AKSA have an announcement to make,
When they need to flag an important upcoming event,
Maybe do a bit of pimping for membership,
Spread some fear and loathing.....
They don't post the thread in their private association forum.
They post the thread in the Kitchen (Kitesurfing General).
But when the Kitchen gets too hot,
When the heat is cranked-up with some public issue controversial topic,
They scurry off and hide in their little private forum and dodge the bullets.
Try-hards.

I find that personally offensive Wave there is no need for your aggression or attitude -

1. The topic was not moved to cool the debate- valid questions are being asked and we are trying to respond to them.
2. We do not spread fear and loathing
3. Questions being asked are an essential part of change, change is usually for the better- the amount of discussion has been healthy for the association.
4. Just because you don't see it in the forums - there is work going on behind the scenes to present a balanced answer to all of these questions.

Ask the hard questions and we will do our best to respond, slagging us off serves no purpose.

Shopguy always cracks me up.
You know Shopguy, he's the dude who invented AKSA.....
and with his very own money, by the way.
He probably thought at the time that it would be an investment for his future.
Well, he created a monster.
WAKSA should slay the beast and go it alone.

And if you selfishly thought that your $65 membership fee would save your arse, protect you with insurance cover....
then think again.
Here's a quote by Shopguy from another forum section.....
"First and foremost the insurance is not about protecting you".
"It's about protecting access to your favourite spots".
"That's not to say some shonky insurer will suffice".
"No, we need the real thing".
"We need to avoid making claims".
"Once we make a claim, we will be affordably uninsurable".

And by the way, does anyone know the name of this unshonky insurer ?
Who is this mystery underwriter ?
lol.

So, to sum it all up.....
If we have insurance (but never make a claim), we maintain access (maybe).
But if we make a claim, the insurance will become soooo expensive....
that no one will have insurance.
And when that happens ^^^
No insurance >>> we lose access to the spots.
Get it ?

Just a quick reminder to all the crew slagging off the guys and girls who are trying to clarify these issues.
They are all volunteers, spending some of their spare time between work, study, family commitments, kiting, surfing and many other day to day commitments. To try and preserve beach access and the long term future of kiting in and around our city and country beaches.
Remember, they are kiters just like you!

Cheers

Sure, valid questions, but if the guys got 5 postings to his name and registerd 3 days ago wheres his cred, funny thing is all the burn baby burn guys falling into line, just getting pleasure out of watching stuff blow up.
And I think Slave wants to be cool but hasnt got the brains to understand some of the replies.
I also see that AIRRUSH GOEFF is going out of his way to answer a lot of the questions and he is being ignored.

All a bit strange isnt it?

Recently, on kiteforum.com, Toby the owner took a stand and banned an abusive and negative troll.
That forum is looking a lot better for that already.
It was impossible on that forum to have a discussion about anything to do with safety or teaching and to not have the thread filled with illogical, impractical drivel, personal attacks and insults by the banned poster.

Maybe its time for something similar to happen here Laurie?

I disagree with you on this Steve, but you are a paying customer and thus have influence.............. I know why Laurie hates this stuff.

Slave you are correct on so many things, but I want to see a every now and them....and show some love every once in a while too, I know you can.

I do not think that Slave is making personal attacks or being abusive at the moment. Perhaps he is speaking some truth and it hurts some. I know he does it out of love for the sport just like everyone else on here....at least that is something we all have in common.....but Slave does not have any commercial interest ....a true free spirit.

This topic is past its use-by date; there's new topics covering this, & I can't see it going anywhere positive...

Regards banning folks/trolls, these forums have been excellent for months .. nobody banned except scammers & spammers.

I don't know if it's the full moon, lack of wind, the economy, the new USA president, global warming ... but whatever it is, some people have been a bit "edgy" in the forums of late .. including 4 different associations "under attack".

Sometimes, when you're given lemons, all you can do is make lemonade...

Enjoy .. Lozza
