It's all happenning at Leightons this week.
Last night one of my mates was kiting around 4.30 off the surf club.

He spotted a guy hanging aorund his gear, did a couple of short runs and saw the guy pick up his kite bag and walk off with it.

He headed in and while trying to land his kite fast, got launched and hit his head on the sand. Luckily he got a Gath a week ago. He reckons he would have gone close to knocking himself out if he didn't have it.

Anyway, he ran to the car park cos his bag had his car keys in it. The guy wasn't around. But another young kid was who my mate approached. The guy didn't do it but said he had just seen one of his mates running back to the hostel they stay at. Apparantly it's near the Nth Freo train station.

On Wed night when the guy got rescued there was another young kid checking out me and my mate's gear as I came in. We were lucky cos we had heaps of gear and if I hadn't been on my way back, we would have lost stuff too.

So, watch your gear close or don't leave any on the beach.

There's theiving lil phuckers about!

that's depressing. i never heard of kite stuff being taken from the beach before, only from the car park. little *astards.

must get angry dog to take to beach and tie to my gear.

It sucks. Makes you wanna set a trap for the little phuckers and teach them a lesson. But can't see that happenning if the wind is up.

Dog's a good idea for sure.

Kited Leighton on Sat and noticed a nice pile of glass in the car park near the overpass. Obviously another breakin victim

We petitioned the local gov etc. last year and I got a nice letter from the local freo member. See www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4495

Basically they just wanted to push the "Look, Lock, Leave" philosophy. Frigg'n useless really...

Surely those poor bastards who steal kiting stuff arent likely to break into a car just cos its got a naish, airush or whatever sticker on it???

Or are they......

Man, id be sooo pissed if my cool naish sticker actually attracted theiving *$@?&!rs to my car.

What do u dudes suggest we do if were kiting on a remote beach and are forced to leave our stuff unattended??

Regards

How about a sticker that says
"I've got loads of money to spend on kites - probably a cool stereo and other kites in here. I'm out kiting and won't be back for ages - help yaself!"

Admitedly it will need a big screen fit this on but with a big smarmy SS style logo down the side of the car it will be sure to attract plenty of envious looks....

Or maybe just go the black n gold no labels look for function in preferance of fashion (cheaper this way)

Well a good way to get rid of fly's is to hang a dead animal up at one end of the verandah while you eat your lunch at the other end.
