Hey KH,
I'm not allowed to go to the drop off - but I might have seen one here..
Yeh it may have been a Mack but it was shorter and stubbier lookin spesh in the tail. Rhoght i saw a flash of yellow on the underside/tail but was probably scale defraction/reflection?
I was only about 50-70m off shore when it jumped as I had literally just launched and on my way out. Was pretty funny at the time and had me thinking about how odd/fun/unknown/awesome the big blue and wind etc are. Has been a while since I just kicked back and took stock of the fact that a mere bit of thermal action and puff or two of wind, combined with my reshaped camping tent and maccas tray has me scootin along havin fun. Cool.

Was making sure not to leave my Maccas tray behind for the 1st half of the run tho!

The only time I have ever seen Toona jump was around Denham/Shark Bay with a massive (around 10m diameter) bait ball of anchovies right along side the (small 4m)boat and toona, trevally, bull nose whalers (2.5m) on an all-you-can-eat binge. Went on for about an hour until there was nuttin but sparkles left of the choves and lots of very full lookin fish. Shoulda seen the toonas and trevelleys spewing up handfulls of choves when they were hauled on board. Pretty kn amazing - spesh for a non-fisho such as I.
Would have liked to have seen the school you described running. Wouldn't wanna be in the way with those pointy noses tho!

Yep - Doc I've copped a few gulls through the lines (unintentionally) in the past. Felt a bit bad for a few secs but seagulls are hard to love really.
