I am keen on going on a wave kiting camp in Bali in July and there is deal where if you you book with a mate you both save $200 on the trip. OK, so I don't have many mates, but if you pretend to be a mate, and you're keen to progress your surf kiting then we could both save $200

If you are interested can you private message me so we can arrange booking.
Thanks

Not quite.
I kited with Ben on the Sunny Coast a month or so ago and picked up some great pointers. I've been travelling down the east coast kiting for the last 3 months in every nook and cranny of the Queensland/Northern NSW coasts, but now in Coffs, I think I've found the last of the nice weather and I am seriously interested in the camp, but was keen to flush out others who might consider booking with me to save some bucks.
anyway, PM me if you're interested.

For "$2190 not including airfares" i could last two months travelling all over Indo, making friends, kiting the most far out places ever and still have change for the taxi home in Aus.

Think about independant travel before you commit to a ten day no wind package.

I think the thing that makes the difference is a crew of experienced people checking out your style and spotting the areas it's not working. I find by kiting alone or without others around looking out for your mistakes, bad habits etc you just keep repeating them. At the moment, I don't have a regular spot or crew to kite with as I am travelling down the east coast in a motorhome.
Coming from Cairns, I'd never been in the surf, maybe it's my particular circumstances, but now I have plenty of awesome surf beaches to kite on, and I'm not getting out there enough because I don't have the surf skills so err on the side of caution and don't go out.
BTW if there is anyone in south west rocks keen for a kite in the next couple of days let me know.

Forget about wavekiting in Bali-the wind is just too light and finicky-better off going elswhere.

Whats the deal with wind in Indo in winter, have heard it kicks in June/ July???? Windfinder doesn't have any stats on history.
Are we talking 15knts of dribble twice a week or 20+ all day.... everyday(I wish)Heard Lombok has some worthwhile places...any info would be good
Am planning winter escape now, and need to make a decision soon.
Mui Ne is fluky in winter, got lucky last year.... want to try some where new? Coco's just seems to far for a maybe...however is in the running.
Heard Taiwan is the secret spot, good in winter...no beach scene though(locals are anti sun)....and Brazil is way too far for a week or two,
Brucex....so where is the break???

cheers

No wave/wind spot in Lombok you should be looking at Sumbawa Lakey Peak but bit of a hike from Oz. Agree Mui Ne not woth it, Taiwan has really strong wind but can be cold deoending when you go.
