Hi,
I'm new to kitesurfing and have wanted to learn for some years now. In 2009 I bought a new GK Sonic kite and bar, was told today that it's probably not the best kite to learn on, which I can understand with progression in technology. My question is. Is it worth keeping to use as I progress or am I better off selling it and starting again? If I was to sell it, what would be a reasonable price to ask for it.

I had one about then and it was excellent performance wise both kite and Bar but quality was not the best.

To sell its almost worthless, sorry to say.

I had a GK Sonic years ago and was my first bridled kite after 3 years on c kites. I can't see you having any issues with progressing on it. Apart from being a few years old, the fundamentals of kite tech havnt changed that much since 09 til now. I'd suggest getting on it and banging it around a bit before upgrading. You may as well get some use out of it, it'll be hard to get much for it if you sell it.

Cheers mate. Will have to be the way I think, money just not available for new kite. Instructor said I would struggle wit it. In saying that he said I was the first person that has has seen get straight up, upon putting board on my feet.

That WAS pretty remarkable Luke! I am still impressed you were able to do that. Now go and try that with your Sonic ;)

That's where you come into the equation Marco. The ozone kite did seem so easy to fly.
