Hey,

Gimme a hand will yas.

I wanna start trying Gaylies (hooked-in Raileys).
Can someone please lay it out for me, expecially the flight path my kite should take and when I release my board in relation to kite position, and where kite shoul;d be when I land.

Kickin up your heels looks like great fun.

Cheers.

well thing is.. you don't move ur kite.. keep it parked at 11 when ur begining and lower it as u get better... basically you;ve gotta pop.. cruise along tops speed. loosen ur edge then edge really hard and just release ur legs just normally pop up any way.. much easier unhooked... but watevers easiest for you

Really!? Well, that simplifies things. Alot.

I've been watching people do it and it always looks like they fly the kite in a bit of an S-bend in the 12-2 o'clock area.

Can't unhook with my set up. (Gaastra Stealth 04). The leash is hooked to the loop, and that stays on my harness, otherwise there's nothing attaching me to the kite.

Cheers Likuid.

Bugger! Now I have to try the things!

i also find, that once im up there... steer the kite down a little... this gives you a little surge of power to keep you up there longer = tweaked more and longer to get your feet back under you

this worked great for Kurt yesterday hehehe

aren't s-bend's supposed to be done with the kite heaps low and not being moved at all?

are we even thinking of the same trick?

anyway for raley's and s-bend's for that matter the idea is to get layed out. This is easiest with the kite low so that the pull does not yank your top half upwards. also unhooked ones, look better and i think are easier to do properly. You should change your setup and just try it. I bet you will get it in the first couple of goes.

Space Monkey, I'm just saying 'S-Bend' to descibe the kite path during a Railey, not the trick of the same name.

Actually, I have no real idea what the S-Ben dtrick is. Wanna tell me.

Yeah, was thinking last night I'll look into changing my setup so I can unhook.

s-bend is a where you lay out flat in the air with the board in line with your head and do a full front spin.. invented by shannon best.. s-bend

but kids remember a real raley is where the board goes above or equal to your head.. otherwise its a glide..!!
same for a s-bend

and its way easier and stylish UNHOOKED

ill like to send my kite to about 1 on the rocket clock and boost really high and while your up there bend your knees and try to touch your arse with board this looks wicked and you can do them heeps higher when you send your kite then leaving it low.

just my 2 cents

Not much beats a clean, high and powered railey with the kite low... feet up waaaay over your head.... arms outstretched.... then a smooth HOT landing Stylin...

How you go greenie? or did ya chicken cos your on a little kite today? hehehehehehe
