Hi Tobes,

in which wind strength do you use your 10 m Speed?
I might be interested by one of these beasts...

also:
what is your weight?
what level are you at?
what is the size (length/width) of your board?
Do you ride on flat water or on the ocean?
which color are your boardshorts? Errr no, not that...

Thank you!

To answer All your queries-

No Undies, Freeballin!

Bondo's my Daddy

I weigh 70kg, intermediate rider, Speed 10 gets me going at around 12-13 knots on a 128 Underground Fridge door, currently building a lightwind ply board, I'm learning how to deal with it above 20 knots. Usually in the sea, had my first proper flatwater sess on friday. Awesome! Probably add a couple of knots to the top end on Flat.

If anyone wants a go at Mambo, come n say hi.
$10 bucks a ride, you must be at least this tall to go on this ride.

Thanks for your responses, Tobes.

One more question though. Do you know the minimum wind strength you require to go upwind?

I currently use a 7m Extacy and I need about 20 knots to stay upwind. Still improving though...

Other details are:
75-80 kg (depending how much I kite)
intermediate
156x38 board
ocean

Thanks

Fred

fver,
I only kite upwind. With your large board I'd say you would get a similar or better bottom end to me, I have heard of guys getting 10 knots with a flydoor type board. If the tube guys are on big 18m-15m kites, you can get going with the 10m Speed. I think a 7m extacy would be the perfect high wind kite to pair with a 10m Speed, the Speed is as powerful as the 13m Extacy/P2. See if you can demo one. You might want a smaller FAST board to really have some fun!

Geez, all this attention, as if having a topic in your name wasn't bad enough.
Not me, but I was in Sydney on the weekend, seems I've only got to unpack a flysurfer and some guy asks "are you tobes?"
The kite you saw was the 13m. Friday arvo was windy, 18 knots? That kite is one of the best light wind kites there is, other guys were probably on 12's? So, it's like he was flying an 18m LEI. Probably looked smooth because if he turned fast he would have been blown away. In the smaller sizes Speed's are really fast, turn fast and you can work em for more power.
I have the 17m which should be like a 25m? LEI, it flies fast for a kite that powerful, but not as fast as a 17m LEI.
It seems Flysurfer aren't making them fast enough, the importer is having trouble getting enough into Oz.
Only a few days to Mambo! Woo HOO!
