As you can no doubt see, the wind is a little crazy so am going to wait and see if it dies down a little. It will be straight onshore and I reckon I'll have a tough time setting the windward mark in my little inflateable.
Do you want to race in these conditions or wait for a better day? I have a few errands to run but will update a bit later.
After having been caught in one of the downpours and wind squalls earlier, and with the rain and cold temperatures, it's going to detract from the fun of the event and the whole idea is about having fun and getting as many people as possible to come out and enjoy the racing.
So I guess I'm prepared to wait for better conditions for a couple of reasons including the one above.
Most people haven't ever stepped onto a race board before and learning to ride one in onshore 25knots with potential squalls is just asking for trouble (fin sets are $180).
Lets have a go on Friday instead, the graphs look great for wind, temp and sunshine and we may give more people the chance to come and try. Sorry to those who would have liked to race today, once we get further on into the series, I'll be prepared to race in foul conditions, but not while we're all learning to gybe and race.
Friday arvie it is, racing starting at 5pm onwards sharp.
