The nationals, which are presented by Cabrinha and sponsored by Red Bull, will be held on February 11, 12 and 13 as part of this year’s St Kilda Festival.
Three wildcards into the Professional Kiteboard Riders Association event on the Gold Coast are up for grabs at and so is $2,000 in prize money.
Over 300,000 visitors are expected to attend the event which will be held on Pier Rd in St Kilda.
Alexander James Lewis-Hughes said national champs are something he wants to be a part of.
“I figured it was my time to pull rank and tell the groms what's up,” he said.
“Australian comps were always ahead of the game back in the early days (in the scheme of things worldwide) so I figured I would make sure that this National title is no different!”
Tom Court, who has recently been filming kiteboarding videos around the world said his goal is to showcase kiteboarding at its best and have fun doing it.
