You dont attach the shift line to the pump leash you attach the pump leash to the middle attachment point on the leading edge right in line with the centre strut.

actually nah the manual gave me some indication that a line was supposed to attach to the pump leash.. quite strange, i looked at the torch video and this isnt the case lol phew

Your informtion on attaching the pump leash to the shift line may be information from earlier years. All torches before the T3 had only a single shift line atachment point on the kite, which was also the attachment point for the pump leash. The T3 how ever has 2 attachment points for the shift line at the kite.
It does still have the original loop in the centre of the L/E to attach the pump leash to though. Just pass the ball through the loop, I choose to go through the loop on the kite and then back through the loop on the pump, this keeps the kite close and totally under control whilst inflating.
