Has anyone towed in behind a jet ski on a slingshot SRT 5'11 or equivalent? any comments?

Is a board like this identical to a dedicated towin board?

No its not. It is identical to one of CJ hobgoods (spelling)? boards.

yea i posted the same thing about a year ago. I am going to take mine to Chris Garret. He makes the best tow board on the gold coast. This is for real tow ins. He has a crew that hits giant tasy and jaws. it would be intersting to see what he has to say. I will post the response.

Thing is, it has the weight but it feels sort of loose. It all depends on what your planning. I am 90kg but i still want to put full deck grip on and take it for a paddle.

I would be so wrapped if it turned out good for it. Two birds with one stone

I am wondering if it is going to be to floaty to use kiting with straps off. It has amazing floatation i can get out and ride waves it really light winds. How have you found it so far.

I have had some good tow-in fun the last 3 weeks. 8-10 ft 3 weeks in a row! The slingshot would be too light. It would be fun to freeboard but when you let the rope go you might travel 20-30 feet and stop. A proper tow board is so heavy it travels 40 -50 ft after letting go. First time I tried it on my 6ft surfboard (strapped and similar to slingshot)I stalled on the lip of a 10ft wave and fell over the falls. Got a good spanking. Cheers

wow that sounds like a tasty spanking.

You know the SRT is a lot heavier than a normal board

Had a look at tow in boards for really big waves and thought they looked wierd. Had about 8 to 10 foot off tos (qld) last year on a 6'5 and loved it. I did not realise the weight could help the run on, i thought it was just to get ya down the face.

Lost my ride so missed the last swell event aaaargh. We got a another ski now so we are back in the running. Apparantly there 18 skis of tos recently. The police did a blitz on the boys at currumbin. No observer! can you believe that ****. Rumour has it they are going to change it so the observer is not a requirement. Typical example of people making rules for something they know nothing about.
