Mate I was up there last week. Zero wind - wasn't until I got to Port Douglas that I saw anyone flying. All the kiters I spoke to told me they had been waiting two weeks for wind. The smallest kite on the beach was a 12metre Flow, everyone else were flying 16s or 18s. Alot of them had come up from Townsville. Hope its better for you.
Im told the beach in front of the promenade at Townsville is pretty good _ you can't miss it.
