G'day guys,
maybe some of U techo guys can set me straight.
I've got a '06 9M Tribal and for some reason is behaving badly at the moment.
Up until a few weeks ago it worked like a dream. Now for no apparent reason it flying like a dog. Packed away after a great session and now!!!!

When I launch it a bit down wind it powers up to the edge of the window and then it tends to fall back to the left and won't fly properly, the only way I can stop it is grab a handle full of right steer line. If I don't catch it in time it falls out of the sky. Even when I catch it in time it still doesn't fly like it use to. It appears and feels that one line is a "foot" shorter than the other.

I've been kiting for 5 years and I would like to think I'm not to bad at trimming kites. But this one has me beat.

I've measured all the lines, the right- green steer line is approx 5mm shorter than the red. Adjust the outside strap to even up. STILL no good.
Centre line- front lines are equal.
Top Y bridle also looks ok.

When the kite is laying directly down wind, the actual bridle connection looks off centred when lines are under tension. I shorten front connection point to move the bridle back toward the centre but still fly's like sh1t.

So I've shorten and lengthen lines to compensate with no luck.

I've got to missing something simple, ANY THOUGHTS.

this is gonna sound silly but it sound like you've blown a panel.... I had a 1 foot tear in a kite of mine the other week on the side after smacking it on the beach and that was what I noticed when it relaunched and wouldn't turn well in one direction.
if you havn't blown or ripped a panel a few other things to check are, are the lines the same length, are the panels the same size , ( I don't know how this would happen but maybe one has deformed)
if non of the above, does the kite look twisted at all ? or is it like it was out of the box ( twist in the Leading edge bladder, again I heve never seen that on these kites before either.)

if the kite turns fine one way then , the wingtip that your pulling on when it doesn't turn will be the one with the problem / hole / deformation or whatever it is.

keep us posted, interested to find out what it was.

So kite is fine, then just decides not to work.

surely soemthing has changed.
You say you checked everything?

why not take it back to the F-one retailer you got it from.

they would be the best ones to look at it.
there must be one in Adelaide.

I know TonyL at ralinn would be able to help but he's in Vic.
probably way too far from SA.

Freed.

Thanks guys,
I've done pretty well every thing you all have suggested, line lenghts, PSI etc but I will have a closer look at Panels and leading edge bladder twists tonight over a beer, (maybe it won't look so bad, hic).

I've sent this tread to F-ONE aust. Maybe Andrew and Mat can shead some light.

I'm sure you've checked but I've found from time to time the adjustment straps on my back lines become uneven. You can pull the neoprene back and make sure the line hasnt somehow wrapped around the buckle or something + make sure the straps are even on both sides.
