Hi there,

I am currently in the process of organising an 8-week kiting trip to Oz. I am looking to get come in December/Jan and would like to know the best places to go kite surfing. At present I am a beginner but hope to be more at the intermediate level by the time I arrive. Any advice on where to go etc would be great.

Thanks for your help

I am totally open to were I am going to visit, I am from the UK so Oz is a massive country and I have limited knowledge of where to go to KS, and don’t want to fall into the trap of going to Sydney staying in Sydney and going home after 8 weeks without seeing or doing much surfing. If you could let me know some pin places that would be great.

If all else fails perhaps I could surf in your bath!!

seriously though - if i was coming to oz specifically to kitesurf and see the country, i would start in WA, maybe with one of those house boat tour things that that choicey fella runs, then i would consider flying over to melbourne, do some kiting there, then hire a car and drive/kite the east coast from melbourne to noosa and fly home from brisbane.

you could cover that in 8 weeks....

4 million kiwis in NZ. 1 Million kiwis in australia. 1 million kiwis living in the rest of the world. One third of kiwis do not live in NZ! Wonder how many other countries have this ratio? Maybe Iraq? The Dafur region?

Hey coming to OZ,
check out www.boards.co.uk and look in forums destinations.

as for summer then Victoria has the variety that will have you kiting, wining and dining.

and friendlier people, no wave hogs.

30 degree+ Days, 17 Degree nights, 21 degree water.
board shorts T shirt harness and sunnys.
grass set up areas sand sand sand.
Reef break and shore breaks in same spot.
park kite and walk 2 mins to get lunch.
toilets showers 50ft away.

mmmm sounds just like blighty.

then of course there's Sandy point.
2.5kms of flat water in any strength wind.
or head over the dunes to 10-20k's of surf beach.
hungry 20mins drive to port franklin and a little fish co-op.
get your meal for tonight straight from the boat.

Or try the huge steaks at the Sandy point cafe.

enough to make you home sick for pommie land.

and NO wave hogs.[}:)]
