Hi all,

I've searched and read all the info available in other threads, but I still have some unanswered questions.

I have a 14m airush flow with 5 line set up. When sheeting in the back wing tips sort of curl in and the kite starts to fly back a little. The front lines have the Y arrangement, splitting approx halfway between me and the kite. My is do you still make all lines equal with this setup.

When setting line length should strap be depowered or powered perhaps that's where I've gone wrong. So much info so little space.

Any info appreciated.

Hey Blaster,

Your back lines are too short. All lines should be of equal length with the bar pulled in to within two inches of the chicken loop and the depower strap set at full depower.

If it is an Airush Bar, it will be easy to adjust all the lines and get them right with minimum fuss. We usually use a screw driver in the ground with all the pigtails larks headed onto the screw driver then adjust the lines until they are all even and when setup as mentioned above.

It should make no difference if the front lines split from the bar or midway to the kite. This sounds like a modified bar as Airush front lines don't split midway, It should make no diff though. If you have trouble bring the kite to us and I will help you sort it out in 10 minutes.

Good winds,

Thanks Kitehard. As no one else has replied, thats a strong indicator that they all agree. I'll adjust them this arvo and give them ago when we get some wind again.

Also, As I like the 5th line arrangement on the 14m do you see any reason why I can't use this bar and lines on my 10m. Reason being the 10m bar is only a 4 line and several inches shorter, perhaps for those more advanced than myself.

Cheers

Hey Blaster,

Using the same bar and lines will be OK as long as you are aware trhan a longer bar will make the 10 turn a lot faster than the 14m, thats why we use smaller bars with smaller kites.

The 5th line should be fine so long as the 5th line section which attaches to the kite is not part of one long line from the bar.

If you can imagine the radius of the curve of the 14m Flow is a lot bigger than the 10m which will require shortening the overall 5th line length. if you have 5 lines of equal length and then connect the 5th to an extension piece to the kites centre attach point, it should be fine. Just add an extension to the 10m as well and leave it attached to the 10m, that way you can swap kites and use the same bar.

Good winds,
