Hi All,

i have just switched from a Cabrinha Switchblade (2014) to a V1 Catalyst and was interested in peoples thoughts re tuning positions on the kite and/or bar to get the best out of this aquisition.

I originally learnt on the Catalyst so the feeling of the kite is not new to me.

Kite - Cat 12m V1
55cm bar & 25m lines
139x40 Nobile 50fifty
Rider - 90kg, mature, beginner/intermediate.

TIA for your comments and assistance.

What exactly do you want it to do differently to how to rides now?

I have two 2015 Cats (10m & 12m), not sure how different these are to V1, but I have changed the bar pressure to the lightest setting (-) as I like the quicker turning. Try all three and see which ones works for you.

Thanks Phoney.

My understanding is that the V1 is very different to the 2015 Cat. The 2015 model is more like the current Enduro.

I cant seem to locate any real information on what the different settings are for and how they are used so I would like some information and then simply get out there and try the different settings.

Either I am missing it or Ozone have not distributed good material on the use of the different settings and how they affect the way the kite flies AOA etc.

Hi Narrak

There are no adjustments to the front bridle, there are only turn speed adjustments on the rear lines. On all my kites 10M and larger I use the lighter/faster turn setting, which is the attachment closest to the tip on all Ozone kites. On 7-9M kites I recommend the middle setting and on the smallest sizes the slowest setting.
Hope that helps, if not get back to me?
Regards
Steve

If you buy an exstended pigtail
Put a knot at factory setting and one 30/40 mm longer, you'll get a bit more oomph for you dollar, ensure both are exactly the same, I've done this on all my ozones and 5th line kites I've owned, can back stall in very marginal winds though
