Hi.

First post. Hope you can help..

I'm coming over for new years on Sydney Harbour than heading north for few weeks doing the Airlie beach area then fly out Via Perth.

I'm not going to be able to bring my kit over with me as it will cost a small fortune (Flying BA)

Over here shops have second hand trade in kit to sell off. I've had a look through here and haven't found any such places.

I've not had too much success with google either.

Can anyone help with second hand kit from a shop please?

If this is likely to go against forum rules please PM me.

Hope to see you out there!

Clive..

Kitepower is in Doll's point in Sydney. They have plenty of secondhand and clearance stock.
Not against forum rules as they are a site sponsor - their link is on the right hand side under kitesurfing links.
There are obviously other many shops in Sydney however Kitepower is the one I know about.

Almost every kite shop will have 2nd hand gear in stock. However not many keep their list updated on the net. Try calling around a bit and make sure they knock a few hundred off the asking price.

Steve will be able to clarify, but I think they keep a pretty updated list of their 2nd hand gear on the net.

Darkside is on it

Also you could post a wanted add (maybe 3 weeks prior)that will come up in the for sale section too.

State what gear you want & how much your willing to pimp ya misses for Doh.

Most sensible people are willing to part with their gear at a cheaper price than they advertise and Im sure every keen kiteboarder has at least 1 or more kite skeletons in their closet.

Youll get one easily enough

If you need help on finding spots - its on one of the links here or just post..

Pack your kite kit minus the board in a non surfboard looking/shaped bag, buy an old surfboard from cash converters or where ever from $150 and wax it up! if you take one kite take an 11m and a set of short lines for the windier days. Perth will be windy...

British Airways sucks, why fly with them? - they don't support board riders so don't support them.

Airlie beach (and the rest of FNQ) will have jellies till at least march, maybe even till late april if we're unlucky, just something to keep in mind if you plan to kite up here early in the year.

and Bretto lists some 2nd hand and ex-demo gear on his new site (www.windswell.com.au) listed under 'gear', the site is still a work in progress so it's still a bit messy.
