I currently have the first 132 FLX (flat bottom). I'm thinking of upgrading to the new 132. How does this differ to my current board? Is it much different to ride?

G'day Matt

There is a demo at the shop you can borrow, try it and convince yourself?
Of all the boards we have, and have had to demo, the 1.32 is still my stronger wind favourite. So smooth through chop, and excellent for fast turns transitioning from one edge to the other.

I had last years FLX 132 single concave bottom board (2005 model) and upgraded it to this years double concave model.

Having had 3 good sessions on in now in conditions ranging from 12 knots through to 30, I'm convinced it was worth it, althoughi nitially it felt a little different. What is really noticable is how much better the edge hold is when carving turns. The ride in chop has definately been improved and the other thing I have noticed is a lot less spray hitting me in the eyes (don't know why this is, but it certainly is a plus!).

Overall I'd say the board is well worth a demo, and in my opinion has improved enough over last years model to be worth upgrading (but maybe I'm becoming a gear junkie?!).

The double concave has a fairly sharp central spine. This makes the board track like it is on rails.

You can go into turns at max speed and just carve the whole way through with minimal speed loss. The old model tended to slide a lot more.

It takes a little while to get used to the lack of slide when trying to do moves that require sliding but I got used to it and I like the new board a lot.

Ahh Matty still crying over the scratch you got on your board while kiting over at Towra, good excuse to get a new board, like the Fuzz said time to get a new board.

Forget about the Underground go and demo the new North Jamie Pro, come on mate your a North Pimp , it just would'nt look right, you need the Jamie Pro to complete the Look of a full blooded North Team Rider.

Winds up tommorow see you at Brighton if you can make it.I might even let you have a go of the ultimate weapon the T3.
