Looking to make some video, but need an underwater video camera. Anyone know where to hire one reasonably cheaply, or even a cheap photographer.

When it comes to anything to do with professional (or even semi professional) photography in water, the word 'cheap' never comes into the equation.

Hi Justin

Got a few photographers (some professional) in Brissy and have been taking a fair few shots for our riders. Results most impressive and many are good enough and have been blown to poster size. Can give you contacts if interested. Might be cheaper to get them to come and shoot you rather than hiring gear yourself?

I got a reasonable underwater video camera capable of 30metres, u can pick a decent setup 2megapixel video with 30m housing for just under $2000. Its just a biatch trying to find people to film u! U can hire me for beer rates hehe just kidding... heres the links

Its a good little camera and it works a treat ultra small and light... I will be taking it on all my outdoor and underwater missions from now on.

Sweet as, It's good to see that people are interested! I have a friend with a nice boat, a 4 winns, that could probly take some people to the island in that. But for whoever, want's to kite, then just kiting there might be easier. If it is downwinder footage your interested in, then we could go to DI and do massive 20 km downwidner from there. Get someone set up through the window of a car (if there is enough view) and do it that way rather than on a bike becuase the poor guy pedelling may die of dehydration. Otherwise you could also try in the back of a tray (until the cops pull us over!). I'm going to email some companies to see if they want to donate any old kites they may have as part of semi-sponsership but how well that will go we shall see.

hahaha yea i thought that too, however they will be riding with the wind which is mega easy. DI sounds like a good idea, been wanting to do a run from noosa to DI or reverse for ages, im keen when u are... hows this weekend?! We just need a 4wd.

This weekend would be fine for me, Dustin and I just both finished all our exams this week. A friend of mine has a Toyata Hilux, which can go up to DI. Only 5 seets but, tons of room in the tray for gear. Dustin's Dad kites aswell, has a defender, he might even want to come along if we get a crew together. I have a Nissan Xtrail, but don't get my licence for another few months. We should be able to work something. Dustin and I are keen to get some footage of Old woman island, beacues that would be pritty narly, and the waves spin offsure there which is sick for kiting. Also I know dustin wants to hit point perry. So we should be able to get a mix of a few things. I'm going to port mcquarrie these holidays and hope to get some sick wind there and some footage. Dustin you can come along if you want actually, I'll talk to you about it later on. The only thing is I want my new kite before I start doing to mcuh, as the ktie I have right now is soo unreliable. It's a death trap I sware. Just waiting for slinghsot factory to get there new shipment.
