Hey guys/gals I have just started getting into unstrapped riding, on a surfboard. Quick question with probably many answers. Climbing White water no worries but how are you guys coping with the drop off down the back of the wave ? As somtime especially in athis situation you need to have some speed to get over the lip but then I find I'm going to fast to cope with the drop o the back of the wave. I get unintentional air and feet leave the board and inevetable wipeout. Any tips ? Thanks :)

just before i go over i lose all my speed by hitting the lip then going over it, and bending my knees, its hard to explain how, but it works.

Makes sense ! Thanks so it's basically a well timed tail slam into the lip to wash off the speed before taking the decent ?
Nice one brode keep ripping mate ;)

i reckon you're better off to send the kite down hard as you take the drop, it pulls you down the face with the board. that way you are going with the wave energy and the kite energy, not against them.
if you stomp on the tail and lose speed the lip or face will knock you off the board.

just my opinion

i slow down alot and absorb the wave like brode said, with your kite low you won't get enough lift to get lofted off.
dnt worry buddy i have tons of fun in the waves now but i still get hammered doing simple stuff
keep a smile on and try again i say

Stamps method is better and more fun imo. I like to edge off the lip and pop on purpose, then pull on the power by diving your kite or just pulling in or what ever and pointing the board straight down windish with the nose nice and high so the kite sticks me to the board nicely. carve back up wind as you land. Find I can land pretty big strapless airs, but not always that gentle on the landings. My board is constantly being repaired.. One day I'll fork out for a tougher one. good luck man. surfing is heaps of fun. i only tried it as delivery of my tt was delayed months.... and i saw a surf board for $50. Now i love it. Also it means I get out nearly every day lately. 6 out of the last 7... wahooo. have fun

edit..oh yeah.. over head high waves. maybe absorb a bit of it to control how high you pop.
