more bull**** oh its so great, bring on the hyper hippy!

No-one gives a sh1t where anything comes from.

now tell me this... if enough of these machines existed would it change the atmosphere and the climate in unexplainable ways? what if 10,000 of these were positioned around the world, would it effect the wind currents, the weather, the climate????

Hmm yes indeed, i think that yet again man is beggining to think he is greater that which lies beneath he.... rara rarawr arara ranrtttyy rantty rant

Billiant until we see the headline "4 Die as cessna is sliced and diced by power station"..........

But seriously it's worth considering the how feasible it is I guess.

Same thing has been said about wind turbines..... I just have one question though.. How many trees are on the earth? Wont these stop the wind

That means the sun has stopped, we will have bigger issues, such as, the place will freeze to -200 or so within a few days

Somehow I think he means "what happens when the wind drops to 1-2 knots for a day or two?"

Nice find Z

Now that we know "conventional" wind power by turbine is all but useless for real power generation (see www.lowtechmagazine.com/2009/04/small-windmills-test-results.html) we definitely need some more options.

Even if this does not work in practical terms (oh so many things to worry about) it will be a good stepping stone to other work.

ahh ok, well i have done a little reading on this recently and i believe that the plan was to have these things in the jet streams, which are pretty constant i understand albeit a hell of a long way up...
