Hey,

Has anyone used a Wakeboard for Kiting? I'm new to the sport of Kiting but have Wakeboarding experience and I'm wondering if I can use that same board with the Kite on flatwater?

You can but the rocker is a killer. Unless the wind is really cranking you'll find it harder to get out of the water. My advice is take your boots off your wakeboard and put em on a kiteboard. They have a flater rocker and will plane easier.

u can..but, wakeboards are heavier and if u are new, u will want a bit more size, no boots, and something with larger fins, as most wake boards ive seen either have very small ones or just channels. I have seen wake boards used but generally not with great results. Wake styled kiteboards look similar to a wake board but the subtle differences make them work for kiting. Im sure someone here can give u the technical reason why.

Dont listen to 'em.
Wakeboards are fine for your first season. Stick with the boots if you can.

i bought a 138cm wakeboard with kite straps and it works fine, the board is very stable and trucks along, being a light rider i can still use it in light winds. like some of the guys said here if you bought a kiteboard which is lighter and has less rocker your performance will be increased as the board will plane easier and is more agile.
p.s use a wakeboard for now and when u get better and have $700 burning holes in your pocket then go and buy a kiteboard
happy kiting, mick

Yeah nice one guys, Cheers heaps for that, the wakeboard is what I know, I mean im not busting mad tricks or anything but im comfortable in riding it and the way it handles.

Either way I won't know unless I get up and give it a shot, besides itll give me sumthin to play around with untill I get my kiteboard.

Thanks again guys.
