Just about to make our first board, but I'm having trouble sealing the plastic vacuum bag, and the compressor is having to run almost continusly to maintain the correct pressure. I used duct-tape to seal the edges of the plastic, but have been told you can use blue- tack, mastic tape, or windscreen-sealing tape. What does everyone else use, and where in Brisbane can you get it?

Surface must be smooth you are taping.
Try FGI international,or ATL composites for tape and
info.

The tape should be fine as it will actually seal, but you must have leaks. does the bag have folds anywere. every fold will allow air in, because the tape is oviously not sealing the folded edges. This is were the gooee stuff or bluetack is a little better for sealing as you can go around and plug all the leaks and fill all the folds around the edges were the bag is not perfect.
