Howdy,

The wifey and I are off to WA this weekend for a week. We have a bit of work to do in Perth, but were planning on spending a couple of days up and Lancelin and a few days up at Geraldton. We were hoping to luck into some good weather that would allow for some decent wave riding. After having done a bit of searching around, I was wondering if anyone out there could answer any of the questions below:

1. Who the hell is this Werner bloke and is it worth taking a baseball bat when visiting Lancelin?
2. Is Lancelin Lodge the go for accommodation in Lancelin?
3. Any particular beach recommendations for either Lancelin or Geraldton (particularly for waves)? Obviously avoiding swimmers/flags/the grassy windsurfer rigging area at Lancelin etc.
4. Any accommodation options for Geraldton?
5. Will the baseball bat come in handy in Geraldton as well?
6. Is a wetty needed this time of year?

Any other info/recommendations would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Simon.

1. Bring Werner some Swiss chocolate and all is cool.

2. Don't know.

3. Gero: Pt. Moore and Coronations....Lano: bunch of places, others know names.

4. Champion Bay Bed & Breakfast

5. Only wear "budgie mugglers" in and around town.

6. Wetties always useful against all sorts of things.

Hows it goin'
1, Don't worry about Werner, leave him to his devices he'll leave you to yours.
2, Lano Lodge is the go. If your lucky you can score a double room in the main lodge.
Take an Esky and lots of grub, selection poor at Lano.
3, All questions answered at the lodge. Email them before if you like?
4, Stayed in the backpacker in the high street before, Ok for a few nights. very social.
Big4 campsite at Point Moore is closer to the ocean.
5, Prefer a flare gun myself!!
6, Always use a 3/2 for comfort, not reallly needed for the cold.
Helpful?

Coronation beach is not to be missed if your up that way, stay at the campsite if you have a tent, the only way, to get the best of this great spot , as you can get out early and late, so avoid the windsurf crowd.
All the instructions you will ever need will be screamd at you on your first run out, in foriegn accents, mostly poms, dutch and swiss etc, claiming this spot as thier own.
Stay cool and enjoy no baseball bat required anywhere

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. We will bring Swiss chocolate, a flare gun and will probably leave the bat at home.

One last question, if these easterlies continue, is there any good places to hit (anywhere)?
