Hi All,

WAKSA have locked in February 25th and 26th to hold the WA Flat Water Titles at Woodman Point.

We're going to be running a special format that encourages competitive kiting for those that are new to competitions. Kicking off on the Saturday we will run a pre-qualifying event where all non-seeded riders will have a chance to compete against each other in a man-on-man knockout (double elimination if time permits), moving through into the finals to be held on the Sunday.

The finals will see the winners of the pre-qualifying rounds compete with the seeded riders for the State Freestyle Title, again double elimination will be followed if time permits.

We will be running the following divisions: Open Men’s, Open Women's, and Open Youth.

There will prizes for both pre-qualifying and final events; so if you have always wanted to come and compete then now is the time to show everyone what you can do.

The event will be judged according to the judging criteria used in both the 2004 and 2005 Gravity Games, and the 2005 Geraldton Nationals. This will be made available shortly.

There is no entry fee and WAKSA will run an all-day BBQ on the Saturday.

Please email your name, contact details, and division(s) - e.g. Youth can also enter Open Men's - to [email protected] to register. Feel free to post your names here too. Entries close on Friday 17th February and it is the responsibility of all competitors to ensure they are current WAKSA members. Membership forms are available from www.waksa.org.au.

Updates will be posted so keep your eye on this thread!

Looking at the ages of people out there...we need a geriatric division .

Just kidding Jess, looks like this should be a fun one.

If there is enough interest we can look at running a Masters (35+) event. I think a minimum of 4 would make it worthwhile, so speak up those that are interested :)

Hi Everyone,
Just to clarify following some confusion from a hopeful competitor that being a WA (therefore State) Titles, competitors need to be WA residents.
Let's see some new blood coming through!

not really any of my business, but i don't think that being a resident of wa should be a requirement to enter...

it may well be that you must be a wa resident to take out "state champion" or something

We used to have heaps of Victorians riding in our states (SA) in years gone by. They have never won i dont think so the issue has never come up but they still get a rank eg. 2nd or 3d..
