Hi Everyone,

The forecast is looking excellent for the Big Air event this Sunday 27th January at Contacios, North Scarborough Beach!

The schedule is as follows:

Entry fee = $10
Registrations = 11:00am
Briefing = 12:00pm
Start = 12:30pm (or when the wind arrives)

Helping hands to set up from 9:30am are always most welcome.

The format will maximise water time for all participants. We are still determining how to award the prize money but regardless remember this - your biggest/longest boosts are what will get you in with a chance!

Please ensure you have current 2007-2008 W/AKSA memberhsip to take part in the event. This can be done on the Membership page at www.waksa.org.au.

The event entry and indemnity form will be uploaded soon to the event page at www.waksa.org.au for participants under 18 to have it signed by their parent/guardian in advance.

We look forwards to seeing all Perth's boosters there!

Forecast is looking perfect as at 11:30am on Saturday morning:

Sunday: S/SE winds 18/23 knots easing to SE'ly 13/18 knots by sunrise. Winds
shifting S/SW and increasing to 20/30 knots during the afternoon. Seas 1.5m to
2.0m. Swell 2.0m to 2.5m.

Looks like there will be ramps to launch off too :)

Congrats Ian, nice to see a fellow old fart kick arse.
But sorry, that was no kite, that was a Zeppelin

Personally I had a great day on my 7M RRD and surfboard.

cool setup for the event.. not enough wind though! ahh 25 - 30 would of bin nice with my 9m

I was using a 15m Flysurfer Speed2 and Spleene Zone wave board

15-20 knots wasn't enough wind??? Some people are hard to please LOL
The inshore current did make it a challenge to hit the kickers hard though.

The 15m Speed2 is the same kite I normally use in 7-10 knots

and I wasn't overpowered yesterday - says something about the wind range of Flysurfer kites

Thanks for all the WAKSA crew for doing such a great job with everything as always.

I'll assume it was ur Red bull that helped you boost massive air in the 15-20knots

Great to get in the 'real' ocean for a change.
Great spectator crowd - huge.
Great day out all round.
But where were all the kiters - very very strange.
All waiting for Kitestock I guess

Also props to Ian for lending me the aforementioned Flysurfer after inflato-explodo, helping me out of the bottom third of the rankings and into fourth place.

Thanks to Jess and all the WAKSA crew for an expertly run event. It was a pleasure to take part in.

Great work Sue for crowd control, and Nick for killer hawt dawgs.
