On Friday afternoon the New Spinning Leash developed by Airush this year gave way and left me stranded in the middle of the river without a kite.

Airush have acknowledged a fault with the attachment of the chicken loop but haven't notified everyone. I hope this warning will prevent this happening to anyone else. Please call your supplier if unsure.

I now use a shackle.

A big thanks to the crew at Lucky Bay in Applecross for helping me get my Kite back.

Hello everyone,

Yes there has been an issue with some of the black tubes on some of the '04 Airush spinning chicken loops. A few have not held whilst most have been fine. Some shops have been warning buyers of the possibility they may be getting a faulty one and in some cases, particularly with complete beginners, have been removing the item completely. Apologies again to Paul from us here at Airborne that he somehow slipped through without a word of warning.

New kites as of our latest shipment which arrived last Thursday (8.1.04) all have modified tubing. We are still awaiting replacements for those who have already purchased an '04 Airush kite and for those wishing to buy the product to fit to an existing bar. Anyone who has bought an '04 Airush kite from any store is welcome to contact us if they are at all nervous about their set-up.

All the best

Hi guys,

the spinning leash comes with the Flow, Lift and Lift Pro. Not with the Trio.

The problem is basically that the plastic tubing sometimes twists strangely, in effect becomes too short, and then pops out. With the wrist leash attached to the chicken loop to allow the bar to spin this then means the kite is not secured to the rider if he lets go of the bar. Hence the remodelled ones come with a significantly longer piece of tubing. As mentioned previously only a few of the earlier ones have failed.

Again phone us at 9245 4100 if you have any queries.
