in another thread i read this, at first i was going to reply with, thats crap, what ya taliking about etc, but after the last few sessions in Noosa which is so busy at the moment, i actually agree with this, and id take it one step further and say lets make it compulsary, now just take a breath here, i am personally against licences for everything and restrictions by the MAN but this sport is growing so fast and where i kite we have so many newbies out of state/ counrty kiters rocking up creating havoc, for those not aware Noosa River mouth, besides kiters has swimmers, fishermen, boats coming in and out, jet skis buzzing about and a rock wall on one side, the other day was madness, people dropping kites on swimmers, newbies floating through swimmers with powered up kites etc, so maybe making it compulsary will give us other kiters some leverage to self police fellow kiters that clearly have no idea. Yes this may not work all the time, and hell anyone can pay some bucks and get a licence/ membership, but it will go a little way to making things safer, any ideas, what can we do to keep this sport from been booted from beaches over the coming years?

It would be good if everyone was registered.

However, is WAKSA a subsidiary kinda thingo of AKSA, or are they both whooly independant bodies??
So if ur a member of WAKSA, are u also then, by default a member of aksa aswell.

Just curious

AKSA is the national body and most states have a body that is associated with AKSA, e.g. WAKSA in WA. Check out www.aksa.com.au
If you register with your state association, you are covered by AKSA and are therefore covered in all states.

Hey Ran,

I'm confused ?
How would membership to WAKSA or AKSA ease the chaos of the Noosa Rivermouth newb zoo ?
It's a physical problem isn't it ?
Too many sardines in the can ?

Why don't you kite in the ocean ?
Plenty of space.

lol, well yes too many sardines in the can, what im thinking is at least when a sardine is trying to kill everyone around them we other sardines can tell em to get out if they dont have a membership, hell i know it wont solve the issue, just trying to think of ways to curb the crazy displays of kiteboarding. I suppose we can get all local on em and cut thier lines or knock em on the head, but trying to be a calm happy person[}:)], lol, sure i can go in the ocean, but how about they go downwind or in the lagoon thats formed alongside the rivermouth, safer for them (less to no swimmers, no boats), anyway i hear what ya saying
