Don't know baut ya'all, but I fear days like today at Lucky Bay.

Got down, put up the 14 and watched, then put up the 10 and went out....absolute crap! It's those clouds I recon.

As a biginner, learning to jump, I actually am frightened about loosing my board, and/or supermanning and breaking my neck.

Last time out in those conditions, I lost my board and while dragging for it, a vicious 25-30 knot gust was ripping out my guts....I was frightened and just dragged to shore. Thank God someone was there to land the kite because I was hurting. And better yet someone else saw what was happening and picked up my board. Always a good and safe crowd at Lucky these days I feel. Thanks guys and gals.

Perhaps once you learn how to jump properly every time, you actually seek and enjoy the gusts?

For now, I don't go out in gusty weather....until I can land those jumps every dam time....and Sooooooooooooo Softly.

Yeah its very dangerous in gusty conditions but i definatley love the feeling of a big air and the feeling of being lifted again when you think you at the peak of the jump, then the veiw and a soft landing to top it off.

hey greuzi i think u r right about the clouds
i dont kite if there are clouds about (not the high ones)
as i find the wind is not
a true thermal seabreeze but more
frontal therefore more gusty
gusts are ****, **** to kite in and as u found out **** for your confidence
but one has to learn, but
learn safely so as to what u like & dont

Unfortunetly you have to take the punishment initially to get better.

In other words it's the only way to learn what not to do. If you hold back from jumping you wont get hurt but you'll also never learn what not to do.

wear an impact vest if it helps at first. Watch the water ahead for gust lines.
