Hey,

Does anyone know if you can fit bindings on an FLX Underground board? I have a recurrent ankle injury and hoping this will make a difference. Please send the pro's and cons of bindings too as I'm sure there must be a few.

Cheers

I don't think the flx is designed to take bindings so you could rip the inserts and it probably has a little too much flex. If you do still want to put the bindings on, you could probably drill the plate on the bindings if the holes don't match up.

The binding plate on the LF Esclades have extra holes drilled into the plate. These bindings might bolt straight on.

I wrote to underground about this, they said the board wasn't designed for bindings but they could make a custom that was stiffer that would be better suited to riding with boots.

Our current FLX boards have extra inserts ready to bolt down your bindings.
We have been building a few wakeboards for local NZ riders with more rocker but similar flex and have had very positive feedback. Not sure that a wakeboard has to be stiff!?
You will not rip the inserts out of the boards, give it heaps!
Thanks Adrian Roper

Most of the wake style boards I have tried that worked well have had a little more stiffness than conventional boards so I definitely think they need a little more rocker and stiffness. I think the bindings put more pressure on the board and force it to flex more.

stiffer boards create better pop in my opinion.

That's great feedback, thanks guys.. If the inserts are strong enough to hold the bindings, I think I'll give it a go and hopefully reduce the movement on my ankle..

Cheers once again!!

We can custom build a little stiffer if required.

Have a look at Cabrinha Custom 08..Takes bindings, extra rocker and stiff but not to stiff..With the extra rocker they are really smooth through chop and dont catch the nose in the waves..They have quad concave setup which works well to give a little grip When u ride no fins...
The extra rocker does require abit more power though...Top board..
