Yep, tried it when I first started kiting, as I come from a wakeboarding background.

Wakeboards are heaps heavier with heaps more rocker so you need a bigger kite. (at least they were 6-7 years ago)

Not really worth it in my opinion, but who knows you might like it.

Also, because I did it soooo many years ago, you would be a homo if you tried it now.

But then again, that wouldn't phase you would it :)

wakesurfer Wal ? not a wakeboard...the only bit I understand in your reply is the fact you think I am a massive homo- which I am cool with.

Looking forward to living closer to you so we can share gaytimes when the wind isn't up.....

I don't think Wal269 understands what a wakesurfer is! Because they're basically a really big skimboard with fins, they're going to give you amazing light wind performance and upwind ability. The compression molded ones like the O'brien are a lot heavier than kite or surfboards, but that wouldn't be an issue for cruising around. What do you want to do on it?

As he gets on in the years there are a lot of things Grandpa Wal doesn't understand...but we try to be nice to him....

Looking at the symmetrical wake surfers to do slidey tricks and ride some shore breaks on- maybe a shuvit or 2 as well.

depends on the style of wake surf board.

my wake surf board is very similar to a skimboard. really wide almost oval in shape zero rocker except a touch in the nose. has 3 fins on the back. For kiting you get up and go no problems but its a little unstable at kiting speeds you can't throw it into a carve. instant spin out the width makes it very hard to hold the edge down... so its super loose even with fins

the more surf board"fishy" wake surfers will work better i guess. bit more grip, i can't seem them working too well when surfing with a kite as the board is still very flat and it will want to run out in front of the wave (hard to stay on the face).

A friend I wake board/surf with is a Shredstixx rep. He can probably hook you up with a good deal. >$500 for a wakesurfer is a lot more attractice than $1200 for a kite surf board if it does what you want.

The Shredstixx boards are really tough for their weight too. They've survivied my fat ass falling on them countless times.

I do know what they are but really was just looking for an excuse to call you a name.

I thought most of the skim boards now have the ability to put fins on??? I think there is even a Liquid FOrce one on the Buy & sell in Perth.

If you look at the Cabrinha skillets, north nuggets, naish even have a 4'6'' twin fin, they are all a bit radical and not just for traditional applications.

So why are you moving to WA, have you murdered your quota in SA?

Please don't murder me when you get here, I think it is illegal in WA.

Nobile made a wake surf last year, it was soo sick. AND their not making it this year. You could put the big 7mm nobile fins in it. It retailed for $280, you could put straps on it, and it way awesome, I think 5'6. Puppet got one only for his shop and couldnt get any more. It sold in 3 days.

Well played HAAK....you would be half a chance if you got rid of that ridiculous moustache, it scratches and tickles but most of all it is dirty, heck I've seen Mondays lunch still stuck in your mo at Friday night drinks !

Now is there anyone with some actual insight or am I stuck playing a childish insult game with Wal"ass" and Pool Cleaner Mo ?

What do you think the chances someone will copy and paste that quote of yours and use it against you in the future?

I am going to put it on your WAKSA application.
