Added some more photos from Sunday.

http://216.26.160.196/waksa/albums/4.aspx

All photos have been pretty heavily compressed and resized.

If anyone wants hi-rez copies (for personal use) then please drop me an email at [email protected]
mailto:[email protected] and I will sort you out with some.

Probably best to send an attachment of the photos you want so I can easily identify them!

I'd personally like to thank Johnathan, Ryland and Mike for all their efforts in organising this event; to everyone who took part and put on such an awesome show; to all the volunteers who helped throughout the weekend; the sponsors for their generous support and finally a "big up" to the judges who without there would have been no competition.

Thank you all.

Enjoy!

Marty Farrow took out the mens. solid riding all weekend and a handful of barrels too. Theresa took out the ladies too and was ripping too strapless and un hooked. also the top 3 men were all on strapless surfboards, with bevo tearing it apart too on his backhand. that was by far the funnest comp i have ever been involved in and been too. layed back and fun. which was made possible by peoples generousity. Johnno and Mike huge efforts and all the sponsers that kept everyone happy with a prize or more . no registration fee to enter, competitors stubbie coolers and prizes. not to mention free red bull, beers and bbq all weekend and a great vibe. great fun, and will definately have to be an annual event. also thanks to the judges ,deano and Ian G. all put in huge efforts that made the comp a whole lot more organised and stress free, thanx

I hope i didnt win the "spat the dummy and left" award after I got knocked out. I really did have to come to work. I was more upset that I missed out on the barbie than anything.

It was a good weekend and thanks to everyone who made it such a success.

I would also like to thank everyone again especially the people I forgot at the preso's

Firstly Ian Grose from Airborne , thanks for working with Deano and the judges all day both days and a huge thanks for the Trailer which makes a perfect judging station as well as a box full of prizes.
(how dumb can you be , forgetting your own sponsor)

WAKSA for putting on the BBQ

Ian Young for his help in working out the heat draws and his input on the numbers side of it .

Jake and RY for making the trophies and Shannon for the stubbie holders and the art work .

Rez for organising the rashies .

Ry for a lot of running around and organising most of the prizes.

Cory and Carl for help with the planning and set up .

Adam Rat and Red Bull without the tent we would have suffered and the Red Bull Girls ,those drinks managed to get us through the day beautifully .

Thank you to all the people that entered and showed us all the different styles and possibilities .

It was a pleasure watching it all .

The thing that stood out I think was that nobody stressed too much about the results and just relaxed and had fun .

It was a great idea by Johnno and it happened the way it was planned , with help from everybody.

Thanks to you all

Regards
Mike

Wow - what a fantastic comp big ups to everybody for being so cool, really refereshing to see such a friendly relaxed vibe and a group of people so stoked on wave slaying. Really felt like the good old surfrider club of the old days.

thanks to all the sponsors and the Vollis as listed above especially the judges who sat and watched everybody else kite for two days.

Even that wasn't good enough to get him into the final .

To get the top scores it came down to wave selection a lot of the time and sometimes even the top boys couldn't find the right waves .

In the final Marty had the wave radar on and picked up most of the best waves then totally worked every last bit of them . It was great to watch .

That is probably the best wave shot I think I have ever seen .

Greg should have sent that off to a few of the mags , that should have been a cover shot .

Airhead,.... that is a nice shot. If he rode out of it I would be very impressed. As for the rest of the shots from the comp.... well nice efforts by the guys but I don't think too many polies will be jealous. Kiting strapless on surfboards definately looks like it has a lot of potential. Where can I find some more info and see some more pictures of it???

I came by on Sun. and the conditions and psyche was exilirating. Couldn't stay to watch too long as I had to get out in those lovely conditions (just a teeny bit more wind and swell would have been nice)........luv that ocean though.

Well done to Johnno and the whole WKSA crew who, from the little I saw staged a fantastic event. Still need to work on my ocean skills, so next year I'de luv to be in it.

Ryland,
No worries.
Greg is too damn lazy to post stuff himself so here:
[email protected] or 0412 636 818.

He's got some other stuff of you as well.

I think the whole sequence looks good. Give him a yell next time you head out.

Cheers!
