The Comp is comming.....11th and 12th of Feb at Scabs.


A few lads smashing the waves apart down at Scabs yesterday in a good 3ft ground swell. Great to see. ( Loved the 3ft of back wash on the beach Whoooooooo)
After watching Felix kite waves at Scabs a few weeks ago I feel totally inspired, and I will never pull back on a close out reo again .....

Are surfboard-style sticks mandatory for this wave comp ?
Important to sort that issue out now.

a few of us caught up and discussed things and was supposed to be posted today. hopefully it will get posted in the next day or so from johnno as he is a busy man and its his comp. but to cover peoples arses you will need waksa insurance or aksa and new guidelines are that they need to be in place for 2 weeks prior to an event so if you are keen on entering you need to do your membership paid up and signed up by this saturday or before . it is open to 32 in open mens and 8 in open womens. first in best dressed.application by posting your name and your number in the que and after its full no more unless there is a pull out. have trophies and bbq and beers organised for presentations. will put my name down to start list of entrants for males and if you are going to compete then just post with name and number so others know where it is up to. the aim is for a casual weekend of kiting with 4 man heats and competitors not to take it too seriously. results may be used for selection for 06 nationals wave selection. Johnno keyes has put $500 towards the event, which is greatly appreciated, and no entry fee is required and any riders of any level are invited to compete. also keen for judges so if you would be intersted in judging and not competing then please post with your details and someone will get in touch with you if you are needed. dates are 11-12th feb at contacios, north scarborough beach, perth. start times and registration to be annouced closer to date thanx

AS per Rylands and Mikes post a little more info, Looking at getting 2-3 judges for the day. Judges will score heats, by rating riders, 1 to 5 with top 2 going through heat, bottom 3 into losers heat. If God willing every one will have a couple of kites. Judges will judge only on 1. "Most radical Moves in most critical part of wave" 2. "Over all impression of riders in heat."

That's it. The Goal is to have a heap of fun and kite with all the other wave riders and get inspired and push it.

Just got word that Jake and Rez are in as well .

so far these are the entrants. sorry if i have missed anyone out on this list but these are the riders that have put names on seabreeze, there may be others that have emailed johnno. apparently if you want to join in and dont have waksa insurance if you get onto it monday or tuesady this week then they might be able to process it asap but you would have to do it online and do a direct transfer and send off signed copy.

i know of alot more riders that are keen to enter and haven't put their name down so if you are interested there are only14 spots in mens and as long as their is 3 women we will run a ladies division. anyone is welcome to enter and have a bash. it is also free to enter and there is beers and bbq on the sunday for competitors,Throphies and some shops are sponsering it to with prizes also, should be a good event , and if anyone else wants to donate some prizes to the event feel free
