How do you jump waves with a sideshore wind, heading straight at the face.
I went full speed into a 2meter face and got near 3-4 meters of air today. I sent the kite into a semi loop and landed hard. I was worried I would luff and crash the kite and get stuck on the bloody reef again , f,,,ck f,,ck reef hurts.
Anyways how do you make the jump nice and floaty, with no hindenburging.

just bend your knees as you hit the wave and don't send the kite, only if needed because you went to high.

not edging hard enough upwind, sending the kite back to early.

well yeah just bend your legs, and go downwind a bit before u hit the lip. go slower aswell.
learn jumping in flat water before doing them off waves.

What do you want to do? Do you want to jump OVER the wave just continuing out or do you want to use the wave as a ramp to boost bigger air?

to go high:
edge hard, hit the wave square on and as you hit the lip "jump", extend your legs and send the kite back as hard as you can.
When you land on the beach you know you have done a goodie.
to be lame:
just before you hit the wave, release your edge and head downwind slightly, hit the wave at angle(pointing downwind), tuck your knees into your chest and push the bar away from you to release the tension in the lines. make sure you harden up and try jumping the wave instead, i.e. go flat out and do an "ollie" over the breaking wave. no kite adjustment needed, just speed and spring.
