Great effort Jess .
Just being on the water with all 100 plus other kiters is a gutsy effort , heard you had 4 touch ups from other kiters .
Good to hear that you didn't let them push you around .
Congratulations .

That's not bad for a chicky who 2 years ago could barely go upwind.
You rock Jess,a great example of determination & commitment, keep it happening.

Jess was killin it!, nice work!
The NE we had on Friday and Saturday is like a SW here in WA so it felt kinda similar. Sunday was SE and a more on-shore wind which was good to ride in except you had to contend with around 180 other kiters. You could tell where the sport has moved in the past year with the top 4 male riders riding surf boards strapless all weekend. All the guys who rip in the surf here in WA hav gotta show the East coasters how its done at Gero for the Nats!

Hi Everyone,
Thank you so much for all the support, knowing you approve means much more to me than the actual result!
It was amazing to see the guys out on the surf boards, as Adam said it definitely takes waveriding to the next level.
The conditions were totally manageable. Anyone put off going to a Mambo by stories of horribly gusty winds should go anyway, the NEers weren't nearly as bad as I'd been lead to believe. In fact I discovered waveriding is easy when it's blowing cross-off, you just naturally stay on the wave. Heaps easier than here when it's cross-on. The 25kn+ SE on Sunday which was almost directly on-shore was definitley a challenge and there was considerable room for collisions but luckily there were only a few. All up it was a fantastic experience and I recommend everyone make the effort to go sometime.
See you on the water,
Jess
